    2004 Ford F-350
    Vehicle Overview
A new Harley-Davidson model joins the Ford F-250 Super Duty series for 2004. Later in the model year, SuperCab and Crew Cab versions will be available with an optional power sliding rear window.

A 6.0-liter Power Stroke turbo-diesel engine that cranks out 325 horsepower and 560 pounds-feet of torque became available for heavy-duty full-size pickup trucks early in 2003. This power plant gains improved emissions for 2004, and it mates with a five-speed TorqShift automatic transmission. An FX4 Off-Road model also became available in the 2003 model year.

The F-250 Super Duty pickups come in regular-cab, SuperCab and Crew Cab forms and in XL, XLT and Lariat trim levels. Crew Cab models also are offered in a King Ranch trim with two-tone paint that includes wheel lip moldings, bumpers and the grille, all in an Arizona Beige color. King Ranch interiors are trimmed in Castaño leather.

These F-Series Super Duty models are the hard-hauling brutes in Ford’s full-size pickup line. Based on the previous-generation light-duty regular F-150 series, the Super Duty has different styling, roomier interiors, and stronger chassis and engines. The F-250 Super Duty has a three-quarter-ton rating, while F-350 Super Duty models have a one-ton rating.

    Exterior
The styling differences between Ford’s light-duty F-150 and the Super Duty models are most evident up front, where a massive grille dominates the Super Duty’s nose. Super Duty pickups come in three forms: regular cab; four-door SuperCab with two conventional front doors and two smaller rear-opening back doors; and four-door Crew Cab with four, conventional, front-hinged doors.

Wheelbases range from 137 inches on regular-cab models to 172.4 inches on the Crew Cab dualie. Regular-cab pickups have an 8-foot cargo bed and measure 226.6 inches long overall, while SuperCab models are equipped with either a 6.75- or 8-foot bed and have an overall length of 231.4 or 247.6 inches. Either bed can be installed on the four-door Crew Cab, which measures 245.8 or 262 inches long overall. A diesel-equipped F-250 Super Duty truck can tow as much as 13,700 pounds.

The new Harley-Davidson model comes in three body colors and includes 18-inch aluminum wheels, a chrome tubular step bar, the Harley-Davidson Bar & Shield insert and other distinct styling cues.

    Interior
Regular-cab models seat either two or three occupants. Cloth upholstery is standard, and leather captain’s chairs and a power driver’s seat are optional. The split, front bench seat includes a folding center armrest that can hold a laptop computer. A folding three-place rear bench seat goes into the SuperCab and Crew Cab models.

    Under the Hood
Ford’s standard 5.4-liter Triton V-8 engine produces 260 hp. The 6.8-liter V-10 generates 310 hp and 425 pounds-feet of torque. For buyers who need the highest level of power, the Power Stroke 6.0-liter turbo-diesel V-8 yields 325 hp and 560 pounds-feet of torque.

All models can be equipped with a six-speed-manual transmission. The gasoline engines may team with a four-speed automatic, while the diesel can work with a five-speed automatic. Super Duty pickups are available with two-wheel drive or four-wheel drive.

    • Most reliable truck I’ve ever owned.

I’ve owned this truck for 22 years and so far other than regular maintenance, I’ve only had to replace the starter, alternator, water pump and a set of glow plugs. Nearly 300,000 miles of using it as a truck. I’ve never re-charged the AC and it will still freeze you. What an incredible vehicle!
    • Best truck I have owned!

Let me start out by saying I usually bought my trucks accordingly. I would buy them at around 75,000 miles and the original appreciation would be down I would buy them for around 17-18K. I would drive them right under 200,000 miles and sell them (deisels that is) for around 10-12K and I would drive a truck for my company 5-6K for 120,000 miles. And that worked for me until they quit Making the 7.3. that's what happened toe on this truck. The 6.0 were getting bad reviews and i decided reluctantly to keep this truck after 200000 miles. Toy surprise I have gotten another 135,000 miles on it with only normal maintanance. I am ok replacing a. Starter, or water pump, the only thing that was large ticket so far and it wasn't too bad maybe $1000 was the injectors. I need some front end work now but at 335,000 I am not complaining. These model trucks are built way tougher than the series before them . I had a 97 and I loved the looks of that crew cab, it just wasn't built stout enough for the weight of that deisel. I did brakes and front ends non stop. This truck needs a front end and probably has since 310,000. Brakes are every 50-60k. I have kept the oil changed and this beast keeps going. I love her. The only reason she don't have 5 stars. Is the typical ford plastic cheap interior parts that break all the time and the main reason is Ford has engineers to make the best selling trucks but needs to fire whoever Designs the seats. They are aweful. Legs go numb, back hurts. Go figure they can make an awesome truck but can't make a seat. Oh well you will not regret buying this truck. First review by the way. I love this truck that much
    • Lowest cost vehicle ever owned

After owning this vehicle since 2004, I've averaged maintenance costs of $750 per year including batteries and oversized Michelin tires for all these years. The only kick in those years involved replacing two expensive water pumps. This machine is an amazing value and just continues to run.
